Worship LeaderSteve is a graduate of Eastern Nazarene College, where he earned his BA in music education and music performance, with a concentration in voice. As part of his studies, he studied under the tutelage of his mentor, Dr. Timothy Shetler, as student director of the A Cappella Choir and Chamber Singers. While at ENC, Steve met and married his lovely and talented wife, Amanda, who ministers with him as both a pianist and vocalist. Upon graduating from ENC in 1998, he served as Choir Director and Director of Music at the Wollaston Church of the Nazarene, as well as a trumpet player in the ministry group, Tribute in Brass. In 2003, Steve and Amanda moved to the Binghamton area, where Steve studied instrumental conducting, earning a Master of Music from Binghamton University, and where Amanda continues to teach middle and high school choral music and musical theater for Greene Central School District. In 2006, while already a member of the Binghamton First Church of the Nazarene, Steve officially began serving as the Lay Pastor of Worship. He is humbled by the tremendous honor and blessing it is to serve the Lord by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and discipling the people of God through worship ministry.“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus…For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:4-6, 10)
